SUMMARY:Event 2: Webinar - English writing skills for scientific publications
DESCRIPTION:More details in the Flyer \nPresenter: Jun Zhu\nProfessor at Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering\, \nUA Division of Agriculture\, \nUniversity of Arkansas \n摘要：\n英语写作对非英语为母语的人来说一直都是比较棘手的事情。Dr. Jun Zhu多年来担任美国农业和生物工程师学会 (American Society of\nAgricultural and Biological Engineers\, ASABE) 的两份学术会刊的分刊主编 (Transactions of ASABE 和 Applied Engineering in Agriculture)，负责“农作物和畜禽养殖系统”分部所有文章的总审稿，还担任另外一个国际学术杂志主编 (Editor-in-Chief\, Journal of Water Technology and TreatmentMethods). 这个讲座的目的就根据他在美国三十年的教学和生活所积累的经验，以及在阅读和审阅了大量来自中国的投稿，总结了投稿人常犯的错误的基础上，希望给大家今后在英语写作科技文章时提供建议和帮助。

SUMMARY:Call for Papers in Special Issue of "Advances in Meteorology"
DESCRIPTION:Special Issue in “Advances in Meteorology”\nMeteorological Data Acquisition\, Processing\, Analysis\, and Application in Crop Production Management \nThe application of meteorological data to crop production management is essential\, since crop production is largely dependent on weather and climate despite recent advances in agricultural technology. Interpretation of agrometeorological data is the key to reveal the effects of weather and climate on soils\, plants\, animals\, and related production in agricultural systems. Precision crop production management\nis enhanced by field inspection and optical sensors on space-borne\, airborne\, and ground on-the-go platforms with fusion of knowledge and understanding of meteorological changes. \nWe invite innovative contributions of original research and review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to enhance the role of meteorological data for effciency and sustainability of agricultural systems. We are particularly interested in articles describing the novel methods and schemes that incorporate meteorological data and information into the analysis of crop growth and production management\,\nin particular new technologies of weather data acquisition and advances in weather data processing analysis with soil\, plants\, and field data.\nPotential topics include but are not limited to the following: \n\nLatest technologies for agricultural meteorological data acquisition\, processing\, analysis\, and modeling\nFusion of meteorological data with remotely sensed data in crop growth monitoring\nMeteorological data in crop phenotyping\nMeteorological data for assessment of risks relating to pests\, diseases\, and extreme weather (drought\, hail\, wind\, freeze\, žood\, etc.) events\nTactical planning and decision-making of agricultural operations using meteorological data and information\n\nAuthors can submit their manuscripts through the Manuscript Tracking System at https://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/amete/mdap/. \nPapers are published upon acceptance\, regardless of the Special Issue publication date.
